Lock Mandrels
X/XN Lock Mandrel
The “X” Lock Mandrel is a selective set lock designed to be landed and locked, downhole, in a “X” Profile Nipple. Equalizing Sub-Assemblies and a variety of sub—surface flow control devices may be attached to this lock mandrel before running.
The “XN” Lock Mandrels are similar to the “X”, except for the locking keys. The keys for the “XN” Mandrels are chamfered so they will pass through a “X” Profile Nipple uphole. This allows the “XN” Mandrel and flow control to be lowered through “X” Profile Nipples in the tubing string to land in a “XN” Profile Nipple, which is always installed in the lower end or on bottom of the tubing string. The NoGo shoulder of the “XN” Lock Mandrel is located on the flow control device.

R/RN Lock Mandrel
The "R" ("RN") lock mandrel is designed to function with heavy weight tubing and to provide a setting point for flow control equipment such as plugs, chokes and gauge hangers. It is available in a wide variety of materials and seal bore sizes, and features a bi-directional pressure seal and retractable locking key. It is designed to match with a "R" ("RN") landing nipple, and may be run on slickline or on coiled tubing using a flow activated RX running tool.
