Downhole Motor
Down-hole motor is a type of dynamic downhole drilling tool driven by the circulating of drilling fluid, which can be OBM, WBM or emulsion. It can be used either for drilling straight or directional holes but their main area of application is in directional drilling. When changing the inclination or azimuth of the borehole they make it possible to drill without changing the alignment of the drill string. Down-hole motors are equipped with rotating and stationary sections which make it possible to drill without rotating the drill string.
